Best and Worst Metro Areas – July 2010

Today, Simply Hired is releasing its monthly best and worst market report for July. Below you’ll find information on which cities have good and poor climates for job seekers to simplify your search.

The top five best metro areas saw only minimal change from June 2010 to July 2010. El Paso and Paducah/Cape Girardeau/Harrisburg switched positions bumping El Paso down to the number three spot. Omaha made it into the top five, nudging out Washington, D.C. The top five best metro areas for job seekers are as follows:

  3. El Paso (Las Cruces)
  4. Omaha
  5. Des MoinesAmes

Below are the top five worst metro areas for job seekers. During July, the top five list saw no change. The top five worst metro areas for job seekers are:

  3. Youngstown
  4. Las Vegas
  5. Detroit
