Our team is always trying to find a good work + life balance, so we decided to embark on a 5k running program. In mid February started a “couch to 5k” program with a blank slate. The idea was for us to post our run/walks with post-its on the board and see how good we could do. There were a few “walked to get ice creams” posted, but for the most part our team was piling up the miles. In fact, after almost two months of preparation, we totaled nearly 1000 miles – Wow!
Day 1 of Training – Blank Slate!
As we neared Race Day – The Queen Mary 5k to benefit Long Beach homeless children, the board was filling up fast. We had many team members training together in the gym, on the beach and out in the streets. We have a mixture of experienced marathoners with brand new run/walkers – so it was awesome to see our team work and everybody got involved.
We have a multi talented team here at 2R and apparently a expert t-shirt logo designer. Ace recruiter Sara and LeAnn made us up some sweet 2R Workout Crew shirts – thanks ladies! We also have a deadly ex-bartender on staff – Killer mai tai’s were flowing – thanks Ryan (i think??!!) Big thanks to Erin for putting together our video – looks fantastic!!
Final Days of training – a full board!!
Race day was a bunch of fun. Our entire team completed the race and had a blast. Giant thank you to Q and his QM team – these guys put on one heck of race and party. Here are some pics from the crew.
